Think you can’t vote in the Primary? Think again.

A lot of Tennesseans don’t know if they’re eligible to vote in the primary. Most of them are.

THEY SAY WE SAY
“I’m not a registered Republican or a registered Democrat so I can’t vote.” TENNESSEE HAS NO PARTY REGISTRATION. IF YOU’RE REGISTERED TO VOTE, YOU’RE ELIGIBLE. WALK IN, PICK YOUR BALLOT, VOTE, LEAVE.
“Didn’t they change the primary rules?” NO. TENNESSEE HAS HAD THE SAME RULE ABOUT VOTING SINCE 1973. NOTHING’S CHANGED.
“Voting in the Republican or Democratic primary means I have to vote Republican or Democrat in the future.” NOPE. YOUR BALLOT CHOICE IS FOR THAT ELECTION ONLY. IT DOESN'T BIND YOU IN ANY FUTURE ELECTION.
“Primaries are only for the most engaged voters.” PRIMARY ELECTIONS ARE FOR ALL ELIGIBLE, REGISTERED VOTERS, NOT JUST PARTY INSIDERS.
“I’m not informed enough.” YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING TO SHOW UP. PARTICIPATION GIVES YOU A VOICE IN THE OUTCOME.
“I can only vote on Election Day and the lines will be long.” ANYONE CAN VOTE EARLY IN TENNESSEE. NO REASON OR EXCUSE NEEDED. JUST SHOW UP BETWEEN JULY 17 AND AUGUST 1.

Mark it down. Early voting takes about as long as grabbing coffee.

Here’s what you get when you sign up.

Two things. Dated reminders so you don't miss the window, and the context you need to cast a vote you feel good about. Nothing else.

DATED REMINDERS.

A heads-up before the July 7 registration deadline, when early voting opens on July 17, and on August 6.

PLAIN-ENGLISH EDUCATION.

What’s on your ballot, what’s at stake in your district, and how to research your candidates before you vote.

NO NOISE.

No fundraising blasts. No endorsements. No spam. Unsubscribe anytime.

“I had no idea the primary mattered more than the general. Now I make sure I show up every time.”
